Dr. Lindsey Pennington: Double Board Certified Facial Plastic Surgeon In Shreveport
Dr. Lindsey Pennington is a double board certified facial plastic surgeon in Shreveport, Louisiana, and the founder of Lindsey Pennington, MD Facial Plastics. She is the first female double board certified facial plastic surgeon in the state of Louisiana to own and operate her own solo private practice. Her practice focuses exclusively on surgical and non-surgical facial rejuvenation, bringing together advanced surgical training, a refined aesthetic eye, and a patient-centered approach to care.
Dr. Pennington is board certified by both the American Board of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery and the American Board of Otolaryngology. She has also been elected as a Fellow of the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery (AAFPRS), a distinction that reflects her commitment to the highest standards of surgical training and clinical excellence in the field.
Training and Education
Dr. Pennington earned her Bachelor of Science in Environmental Biology from Tulane University in New Orleans. She completed her medical degree at the University of New Mexico School of Medicine, graduating with research honors. She then completed her residency in Otolaryngology, Head and Neck Surgery at Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center (LSUHSC) in Shreveport, where she received multiple research awards, including the Basic Science Research Award at the annual Resident Research Forum and Symposium.
Following residency, Dr. Pennington completed an additional year of fellowship training in Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at LSUHSC under the mentorship of Drs. Stucker and Lian. This fellowship provided intensive, focused surgical training in cosmetic and reconstructive procedures of the face and neck, building on her five years of head and neck surgical experience.
Clinical Focus and Expertise
Dr. Pennington specializes in a comprehensive range of facial plastic surgery procedures, including facelifts, deep plane facelifts, neck lifts, rhinoplasty, blepharoplasty (eyelid surgery), brow lifts, lip lifts, otoplasty, and scar revision. She is recognized for her work in deep plane facelifts and structural neck lifts, and has lectured both nationally and internationally on facial aging, surgical technique, and evidence-based recovery protocols.
In addition to surgical procedures, her practice offers a full range of non-surgical treatments, including Botox, dermal fillers, Sculptra, Kybella, FaceTite, facial laser treatments, microneedling with PRP, chemical peels, and medical grade facials. Her published work includes studies on stem cell dynamics in ischemia reperfusion injury in skin flaps, a longitudinal case report on extranodal natural killer cell lymphoma published in the American Journal of Otolaryngology, and earlier entomology research published in Environmental Entomology and Pedobiologia. She has presented her work at national and international conferences, including meetings of the AAFPRS, the American Academy of Otolaryngology, and the International Medical Congress of Aesthetic and Plastic Surgery in Paris, France.
